Gary Adams is the original member of Trinity. The trio started in 1982 with three men and evolved to a quartet, mixed quartet and back to a trio consisting of the present members. Gary has sung since he was a teenager and started singing in the mid-60's at churches with his mother and his mother-in-law in a group called "The Zionnaires". He is a retired farmer and has been a county commissioner in Van Wert County, Ohio for 28 years. Gary attends and is a member of Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert where he served as congregational song leader for many years. He is currently Elder of Spriritual Life and a member of the Administrative Counsel. He has been on several committees through the years, such as Stewardship and Finance and been a delegate at Yearly Meeting in Canton, Ohio. He is also involved with Upwards basketball where he is a referee. Something that certainly is not a requirement but helpful for this service comes from 30 years of refereeing for high school boys basketball. Gary has always loved working with kids and he thoroughly enjoys refereeing every Saturday during January and February for them in Upwards. Gary and his wife Barbara live in Van Wert and are enjoying retirement since Jan. 1st of 2013. He also loves singing for his Lord and Savior and counts it a blessing to sing with Cheryl and Kim.
Kim Mason grew up as a pastor's daughter and began singing in church at a very early age. She comes from a musical family and reunions and family get-togethers were filled with Southern music. In high school she sang in the Youth for Christ Contemporaries and then went on to major in vocal music at Defiance College. After obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in music education, she began her teaching career at Delphos Jefferson Schools in Delphos, Ohio. After 14 years of directing the high school, junior high, and show choirs she felt the Lord calling her into a new area. In November 2004 she began a new career with CHP-Home Care & Hospice.She currently serves them through a Music Ministry program for Hospice. This ministry takes her across northwest Ohio where she uses music to bring comfort and peace to the patient and family during this very difficult time. Kim has recently changed her other duties at CHP-Home Care & Hospice and will be serving them as the Volunteer Coordinator/Fund Raiser. In her spare time she loves to spend as much time possible with her nieces, nephews and their families. No matter how busy her schedule gets, God seems to work it all out when she puts Him first!
Cheryl Burk is married to Stan Burk who handles the sound for Trinity. They are the parents of 3 children: Eric (Julie), Christie and Brian (Krystal) and the grandparents of 4 beautiful grandchildren. Natalie, Ashley, Aden & Addilynn. (Who by the way all love and are involved in music also!) Cheryl grew up in a very musical family. At a very young age she began singing with her family (The Hunter Family) singing at churches and revivals in the area. Later she traveled and sang with her sister wherever the Lord led them. Cheryl is a long time member of Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert, OH. She loves serving the Lord in whatever capacity He leads. Cheryl has served as secretary on the Administrative Council for many years, served on the Spiritual Life Commission, worked with preschool programs, nursery, youth programs, choir and worship team . She works at Wee Care Learning Center in Van Wert. She taught PreK for 18 years and then 7 years ago moved into the position as Office Administrator. Cheryl loves singing for the Lord and is excited to see where He will lead next as she puts her trust in Him. Her favorite scripture verse is Jer. 29:11” I Know the plans I have for you declares the Lord…….”
